I know that film, tv, and theatre actors will take their scripts home and really pore over them. But I've heard you don't really have the time for that when you're voice acting in a studio with an engineer and a director.

I had a scene with Tom Hanks in A Man Called Otto. Between takes, I thanked him for something he did — and what he said back has genuinely changed how I show up on every set since.https://youtu.be/UgLJwTQtUtoHave you ever experienced a well-known actor being generous or kind on set? Hi r/VoiceActing, I'm developing a murder mystery game in my spare time and I'm adding a voicemail as a piece of evidence. I'm looking for a voice actor to record the lines and also edit the audio to sound like its coming from a phone speaker, similar to the "Phone Guy" calls in Five Nights at Freddy's: [https://www.yo…

Hey everyone, I’m not a voice actor but I AM a public speaker (as a hobby) and have also done a few voice over things for my friends’ projects and a few of my own. I’ve got two questions just out of curiosity: 1. what stands out about my voice FIRST when you hear it? 2. are there any specific character types that you t…

Last night, I had the good fortune to be in the audience for THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at the Pantages Theatre out here in Hollywood. This was the third time I'd seen it -- the first time, the Phantom was played by Michael Crawford (who originated the role), the second time was with Davis Gaines in the title role, and…

I’m a beginner voice actor, and I’m not sure where this industry is heading. I’m a freelance voice actor, and I also occasionally take on translation projects. I only have about one year of experience — I graduated from school last year and started exploring this field soon after. At first, I was really excited about t…

I am curious. On our journey as actors not very many of us make much money right away in this highly competitive field. So what are some of the best and flexible sources of income you have found to help you on your journey?

One piece of advice that really stayed with me from Keanu Reeves was:"Try not to be a f--king a--hole. And go to work and respect who you're working with until they prove they don't get your respect."As someone beginning my journey as a screenwriter and actress, I think this is a reminder that talent is only part of th…

So, I'm a somewhat aspiring voice actor. Mainly I just enjoy narrating things. I've made a long video essay type video and the beginning of a long audiobook. The issue is, I also work for probably a really toxic company in a loud server room. I have to wear hearing protection all day. But it's alright to need to yell e…

The script is very tight and needs the two actors to face each other, there’s a lot of interrupts and talking over each other.
