I want to become a professional actor. I’ve done small short films here and there but I want more. What websites can I use to pick up smaller roles to get more experience? Is Backstage a good one? If so, what are some red and green flags to watch for? If not, where can I look?

Hi Everyone! I am a current nursing student here in South Florida (almost done!). My passion has always been acting, and I am on Casting Networks and with an agency, but it's really hard to find gigs. I chose to pursue nursing because I do love medicine and helping people--and it's a really stable career. I'm already o…

Anyone else experience this? Three times this week I’ve had series regular or guest star auditions that I’ve submitted my tapes for, only to see a day or two later that the deadline has been extended another 48 hours (or in one case, an entire week). I know there’s a chance they’re still considering me and just want to…

Hey y'all! I've been acting for a while and I've noticed that on some websites I get A LOT more responses than others, and I'm curious as to why and if this is the same for you. I use Backstage, Actors Access, and Casting Networks, although I get some auditions on Casting Frontier from my commerical agent. I think it's…

I figure there is sort of a survivorship bias at play where most actors & actresses who don’t reach the level of stardom or stability they desire by a certain age decide to drop out of acting professionally and go into other careers. The ones who did make it to stardom will continue to play the lead roles, and entry in…
