I'm an amateur voice actor, and I just got my first real job as a news anchor on our local FM radio station! I saw an ad that they were looking for news anchors and didn't really think I had a chance, but sent in some recordings of myself reading the local news. I got called in to meet the station manager and was offer…

Hey everyone. I’ve been lurking here for a while and wanted to share my journey as an Actor in LA. It’s been a wild ride since 2011, and I think some of you—especially those in the middle of the grind—might relate to the highs and the brutal lows. The Early Grind (2011–2014) I started taking acting classes at the New Y…

What's the best way to get my casting call in front of actors in LA if you're not going through agents? I know there's a lot of casting sites, and I've done a bunch, but I would prefer not to make actors pay to submit. **Payment info:** **The starting budget is $75 for roughly 430-500 words of dialogue, with professional or experienced voice actors preferred. I'm happy to increase the price if the final script is longer, requires more demanding vocal work, or ends up falling outside what feels reasonable for the base rate. I’m also o…

I’m a voice actress quoting for a non‑exclusive annual licence on a voice‑assistant project. One company I work with quotes $12k/year for similar usage, but I want to be reasonable and fair. Does quoting around $18k/year sound right for this kind of licence? Thank you!

I was asked if instead of using CGI for some post production for a movie I was in, if I was okay with them using AI for some scenes I was in. I called SAG and I know producers have to submit paperwork and there are fees. But I’m wondering if anyone has experience with this. In principle the whole thing feels weird. It’…
