As a director and cinematographer I'm curious to hear what you think as an actor when the camera is close to you or far from you? There has been a bunch of discussion this past year in the camera department about the sensor sizes in digital cameras, some people like to capture images in a way where they bring the camer…

This business has prizes - Oscars, Emmys, and Tonys. I got them all. I wanted to represent actors who were capable of getting the nominations and the awards. As an agent, I represented Edward Norton, William H. Macy, Lynne Thigpen, Howard Rollins, Chris Noth, Rainn Wilson, Robert Prosky, Robert Lupone. These are names…

For a long time now I've had many people tell me that I would be a good potential voice actor (as I'm sure many of the talents here have). but I'm just more or less lost on how to get myself out there. I live in a fairly small town that doesn't harbor really any local work, so I figure my best chances are to try my han…

Any advice? I just started college and I can’t really rehearse the monologue out loud cause everyone would hear and won’t want to(I live in the dorms). I don’t know where to go for privacy here. I can memorize it and practice it but depending on how loud I need to be I cannot do it fully. The director also said either…

Hey everyone! I decided that I want to try and be a voice actor so I started to listen to other voice actors and my favourite voice actor so far has to be Michael Piotr. In the Doom 2016 game there was this really low and demonic voice. I want to try and copy this. Can his voice really just go that low or is he using s…

I’ve wanted to do voice over for a while, and have a decent set up and work space, but every time I sit down to do it I always get overwhelmed and feel like I’m not getting anywhere cause I’m not really sure as to where to start.

Would already have beginner equipment for soundproofing, access to a microphone (though admittedly I’m still quite un-knowledgeable there, but know enough where to get started) and space to work at home. Just looking for suggestions as to what to record that would be easy for a beginner but still enough to try and get…

like, i'm sorry, but this industry is every man for himself. and it is cut throat and it is clearly much much easier for rich, well-connected people to get ahead. every successful actor I have ever met in my entire life has been incredibly selfish and self-centered and all about themselves, nobody else. so do you reall…

I'm looking for blogpost ideas and wondering what kinds of questions actors and/or aspiring actors have about the craft. The CRAFT of acting, not the business of it. I’ve been doing improv for a few years and decided that I would like to attend one of the big three schools (Groundlings, UCB, Second City). Hi fellow actors, So I have an audition for this play on Saturday. I have a comedic monologue in my rotation, but lately it’s been feeling pretty stale. I'm new to theatre. So when there are callbacks, does that mean they've narrowed the search to those being called back (kind of like in sports and you've made the first cut)?
