Greetings, aspiring voice actors! I see a lot of questions on subs like this asking about beginner mic setups, which typically involve something USB. While USB mics have come a long way, the reality is you will instantly lose a lot of credibility with one. XLR is what you want. Not only do they produce a more authentic…

Hello chums and fiends. I am a stage actor. I have two auditions scheduled for two days apart in a couple weeks. One is for a professional theater (equity), and one is community. I've been acting for a couple years now and so even though I'm not new to auditioning, I wanted to make a post about what I'm feeling. I thin…

Hey! I'm an actor from Vancouver and have a question... On your resume, is it better to list all your training or only some? If a CD sees say... 9 different actor training workshops and schools but say... 6 film credits, will they think the amount of training is good or that the actor must not be that good if they have…

I have been trying for months to find a voice over actor who can do a voice over role of some lines as a husband having a normal light hearted conversation with his wife. For some reason almost every voice over actor I have encountered seems to never been in a relationship or no idea how to talk to women. I am not tryi…

The only problem is I modulate my voi…

Hey guys! My name is Jadon, I'm an actor who's been in and around the craft for a few years as an adult and definitely as a kid. I've been doing some of my own projects and student films that are halfway decent as I'm trying to progress each day(hopefully to get a sag card and eventually get into bigger productions). T…

Hey guys, I’m an actor and have a lot of experience within theatre. It’s not fake, is it? The guy said I had auditioned for him in the past, but it’s been so long that I don’t remember. He is asking if I’d be interested in joining a list of some spreadsheet of actors to use on his projects. The only thing he mainly asks for is a recent headshot, reel (or acting video), union status, ra…

I recently got an Eco Cast audition request for an ULB film on AA. Due to some extenuating circumstances I don't think I'll be able to submit a tape, but I'm wary on declining if my manager will see that I turned it down. I don't want her to think I'll make that a habit for stuff she submits me for.

Dan Green, real name no gimmicks, is easily one of the most underutilized voice actors in the industry, anime or otherwise. He did a lot of work for 4kids, most famously Yu-Gi-Oh!, where he voiced Yugi Moto and the Pharaoh Atem / Yami. He also voiced Knuckles in Sonic X, Entei in Pokemon 3, Mewtwo in Mewtwo Returns, an…

Hey y'all, Actor's access media section says "**Performance Videos** are a one-time charge of $22.00 USD per minute or a fraction thereof." I was introduced to acting through monologues and Shakespeare, not particularly using any technique. However, I know that I "self-direct" and heavily rehearse my lines and emotional beats so that each performance is basically like the last. Which brings me to the allure of Meisner and being open to and listening to the…
