I lack a professional network and I've made a ton of life mistakes, I've been pretty much hustling by myself this entire time and have made some progress, but I lack knowledgable people that are familiar with my craft who can give me guidance, and unfortunately I have no mentors. It costs so much money to get somebody…

Hey everyone! I just emailed every SAG Franchised agent in my area and I'm curious if there is anything else I can do to talk to them? Also, how long does it typically take for them to get back to you? Like I feel really good with my actor's package. I have plenty of scene clips and a reel, as well as plenty of great h…

Hey all, I’m looking to validate an idea I’ve had for a website for actors. The idea is to provide a way for actors to create a public profile with all the relevant information casting agents would need to know (i.e. headshots, age group etc.) I’m a designer so I’d put the focus on building a really nice UI so that act…

Hello all! I am a Freshman BFA Acting Student right now and I am admittedly a little overwhelmed at the moment! I was discussing headshots with my professor and he recommended that I get professional shots done if I want to do professional work this year (my freshman year). My question is whether or not I should be loo…

I've been out of the acting game for a solid year now to focus on my health, but I'm ready to get back in. Of course, the pandemic means that currently acting lessons are only available via zoom. There are some benefits to this, definitely, but I also feel unsure. I'm nervous for a couple reasons: this will be my first…

What’s the difference between the two? I assume the director of an animated project would direct everyone involved. But do voice directors spend more time with the actors? Are they responsible for bringing out an actor’s best performance? How do directors and voice directors collaborate?

There's two things I really enjoy: Smolder from MLP and Crime Scene Investigation ASMR. ASMR is already very niche and this exact type is one of the lesser ideas that are messed around with within the community. I've never hired a VA before so I don't really know how much I should offer. I'm more than willing to figure…

I wanted to know what people on this sub think about when it comes to booking roles (or not) when it comes to hair length.
